Trivia Night Silent Auctions
Unity West PTO
Wednesday, January 22, 2020

Our Unity West Trivia Night and Silent Auction is quickly approaching on March 6. This year we are trying some new ideas for our silent auction. We have 2 different ways for you to help.

Each grade has chosen a fun theme and will be collecting items for a class basket. Parents are encouraged to send in new, unopened items for their student's class basket. Sign-ups are included for ideas of items to send, but please don't feel feel restricted by them. If you have a great idea for an item, feel free to send it!

Kindergarten - Disney!  Silent Auction Basket

1st grade - Family Fun and Ice Cream Family Fun and Ice Cream

2nd grade - Fun in the kitchen Fun in the Kitchen - Baking and Cooking

3rd grade - Movie Night 3rd Grade PTO Basket

4th grade - Harry Potter Harry Potter Silent Auction Basket

5th grade - Fighting Illini Fighting Illini Silent Auction Basket

The 2nd way parents can help is to donate an experience or an item from their business or hobby. An example of an experience could be if you live on a farm with lots of animals, you could donate a springtime afternoon on the farm where the highest bidding family could visit for a couple of hours to see, pet, and learn about the animals you raise.

We encourage everyone to think about both their jobs and their hobbies and consider what you may have to offer that a child, parent or family would like to experience. Perhaps you work at a venue and could offer a behind the scenes tour. Maybe you have a fun hobby that someone might like to learn how to do, such as sewing or woodworking. Are you good at baking? Offer an instructional baking afternoon, a coupon for a baked item to be redeemed at the purchaser's choice, or a baked item for people to bid on at the silent auction.  If you have a small business, donations of merchandise would be greatly appreciated and a chance to get your name out to the community.

Donations of baskets and containers to use to put items in would also be appreciated.

Teachers are collecting items for class baskets, so you can send items to school with your child. If you would like to donate other items/experiences or have any questions, please contact Mary Powers, silent auction chair, at
