It has been wonderful to see so many of you over the last few days picking up your child’s belongings. If you haven’t been able to come by the school, please call the office 217-485-3918 to arrange a time.
Next week will be our last official week of remote learning. Packets will be available for pickup Friday afternoon at 2:00pm. See below for pickup locations.
Turning in Materials:
Remote Learning Packets: We have a small blue bin outside the front doors of the school. It is available 24/7 for you to turn in materials. All packets need to be turned in by May 20th.
Returning Library Books: You will be able to return library books and classroom books beginning Monday May 11th. There will be a large green receptacle in front of the school. PLEASE ONLY USE THIS BIN TO RETURN BOOKS. DO YOU PUT PACKETS OR ELECTRONICS IN THIS BIN.
Chromebook Return: If you checked out a chromebook during remote learning, please return it to the school office between 8:00-12:00 on May 18 or May 19.
Remote Learning: May 11 will be the last week of remote learning packets. It has been fun to see all the work students have turned in. Remote Learning Packets can be accessed online or pick up at the following locations:
Tolono: Unity West Elementary School in the file cabinet in front of the school.
Tolono: The office at The Oaks between 1pm and 5pm.
Sadorus: At the town hall building in the maroon newspaper vending machine.
Pesotum: At the lending library next to the town hall on the east side of town.
If you find that the packet folders for K-5 are empty, please email Mr. Fisher (email@example.com) and he will refill them as soon as he can.
Packets for the week of May 11 will be available after 2:00pm on Friday.
Office Hours: There is typically someone in the office Monday-Friday between the hours of 8 am and noon. Many days there is someone there past noon. If you need to get a hold of someone at the school, you can call the school (217-485-3918) or email Mrs. Reichert (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Mr. Fisher (email@example.com).
Grab and Go Breakfast and Lunch Schedule: All Unit Seven students are welcome to pick up a grab and go breakfast/lunch combo. All meal pick up is at Unity High school on the east side by the baseball diamond.
Times: 9:30-10:30 Monday 2 days worth of meals Wednesday 3 days worth of meals
Pandemic EBT Application Available: The Illinois Department of Human Services (IDHS) launched the Pandemic EBT application for families on May 1 at https://abe.illinois.gov/abe/access/. P-EBT is a new special benefit that can help families buy food for their school age children who would normally receive National School Lunch Program (NSLP) free or reduced-priced meals when schools are in session. All families with school age children who attend schools approved for Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) are eligible for the benefits as they receive NSLP meals at no charge.

Yearbooks: We do not have any new information about yearbooks at this time. Lifetouch will let us know when they are available.
PTO Meeting: We will have a ZOOM PTO meeting on May 12 at 6:30pm. If you would like to attend, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to receive the link.
Committee Chairs Needed: We have several PTO committees that are looking for chairs for the next school year.
