Dear Unity West Families,

I hope this letter finds everyone well. It’s strange to consider that a short time ago we all planned to come back from Spring Break and settle into our normal routines today.

As we know, our Governor has mandated that schools remain closed through April 7, 2020. We recognize that this raises many challenges for everyone, not least of which is providing learning opportunities and educational activities for our students.

Attached to this letter is a list of suggested learning resources that can be used at home, many of which are actively used in our classrooms and familiar to our students. We hope they are a useful tool to help students engage in productive learning activities while at home March 23-27.

This week our teachers and administrators are working to create home-based learning plans for each grade level. Our goal is to provide a week’s worth of online and paper-based activities, beginning the week of March 30. Activity packets will be available to print from home, to pick up in front of the school, or to pick up at the high school during foodservice hours. More information will be provided when these resources are available.

I am confident we will make the most of the days and weeks ahead. Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.
